Neutralise the emissions from your flight!
At Virgin Blue, V Australia, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue, we take our commitment to minimising the environmental impact of our business very seriously through a range of activities as part of our corporate sustainability strategy.
As part of this strategy we are pleased to also offer you our Guests the opportunity to offset the carbon emissions related to each flight you take with us.
How Do I Offset My Flight?
When booking your flight online you will now be presented with the option of offsetting your flight. If you take this option, the offset charge will be added to the cost of the flight resulting in the one transaction.
Alternatively you can, offset your flight at any time by going to the carbon offset page and then entering your name and reservation number.
New Carbon Offset Standard
Virgin Blue's carbon offset program has been certified under the Australian Government's Greenhouse Friendly program since March 2007. Greenhouse Friendly has provided a robust framework to ensure that a strict methodology is followed to ensure that offset emissions are accurate and that abatement credits source are of the highest quality. On July 1 2010, the Greenhouse Friendly program came to an end and a new program, National Carbon Offset Standard Carbon Neutral (NCOS CN), took its place. Virgin Blue is committed to participating in the NCOS CN program.
